In the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park our local ski area, the "Weisssee Glacier Region", offers countless wonderful ski tours and free-riding routes.
Access point for the ski touring paradise "Uttendorf Weisssee Glacier" is Enzingerboden (1,480 m) in Stubachtal. From here you take the cable car to the mountain station Hotel Rudolfshütte (2,315m).
The Weisssee Glacier is without doubt, one of the best free-ride areas in Austria. For insiders it has always been one of the hotspots of free-ride and touring ski enthusiasts. The high altitude ski resort in Salzburg County is characterized by the countless off-piste slopes
in the fresh deep snow of the Hohe Tauern National Park.
The ski area in the Hohe Tauern is not crowded, and therefore fresh snow can be found well into spring.
Free-rider Sandra Lahnsteiner considers the area one of her most favourite in the Austrian ski free-ride scene. "For me free-riding is the most exhilarating but also the most challenging form of skiing. I love everything about it". Thanks to her passion and dedication
Sandra Lahnsteiner is one of the best free-riders in the world.
The north side of the Kitzbühel Alps also offers many great routes with beautiful views of the Hohe Tauern Mountains.
Many ski resorts such as the Maiskogelbahn in Kaprun and Kitzbühel mountain railways offer pistes for night tours.
